Help for a Hurting America

A quick message from the Pastor's Desk:

It is a sad day in America's history. I am referring to the history of the Church in America. I am deeply saddened by how confused the "Body of Christ" is in America. I am saddened at how selfish, how immature, how lost people who call themselves "Christians" really are. The venom being spewed towards those God created who think differently than you do. "Christians" who claim to know Jesus as Savior...the One who lavishes His grace and mercy upon the whole world...have no desire to be like the Savior they claim to know. What is wrong in America? I will tell you...go look in the mirror and you will see the problem. Yes...sounds hard and pointed. But it is the truth. Before America can heal...well, before Christianity can be righted in America...God needs to breathe the life of revival, renewal, and restoration into the weak and wounded believer.

As for America, I truly believe that we as a Nation have lost our way and we surely need to get back to the place of submission to our God and our Savior Jesus Christ.

So here is a small start to the change needed. 2 Chronicles 7:12-15: "12Then the Lord appeared to Solomon at night and said to him, “I have heard your prayer and have chosen this place for Myself as a house of sacrifice. 13If I shut up the heavens so that there is no rain, or if I command the locust to devour the land, or if I send pestilence among My people, 14and My people who are called by My name humble themselves and pray and seek My face and turn from their wicked ways, then I will hear from heaven, will forgive their sin and will heal their land. 15Now My eyes will be open and My ears attentive to the prayer offered in this place."

Let me remind you, as well, what God said to Isaiah for an encouragement to His people: "Do not fear, for I am with you; Do not anxiously look about you, for I am your God. I will strengthen you, surely I will help you, Surely I will uphold you with My righteous right hand."

My prayer for this day, "Father God, In the name of your One and only Son, Jesus Christ, I come before you with a heavy heart. But in my heaviness, I praise You and I say Hallowed be You Name! Your Kingdom come and Your will be done on earth as it is in Heaven! I am asking You to have Your way in our lives. I am sure that You are disappointed in Your people. Even more disturbing, Your leaders, teachers, pastors, etc., that are so caught up in the ways of the world instead of seeing the destruction and lack of hope the world has around it. Father God, You have loved us with an unconditional love, yet Your people don't practice it in this world we live in. You have given us Your Son, Jesus Christ, as a propitiation for our sin. He was sacrificed for us so that we could have life, and that life is an eternal gift from You. You have forgiven us and and we who have accepted Your free gift in Jesus as our Savior are free and righteous in your sight. Forgive us again. Forgive us for not practicing life in Jesus. Forgive us for a lack of love that we should be pouring out on the people around us. Father, saves us from ourselves and restore us once again. Father, help us to live our lives here, until You call us home, as ambassadors of the Lord Jesus and help us to share His gospel, His hope, to a lost and dying world...unencumbered by the cares of this world...which in reality is not our home. Amen!
